The annual Nitro Cross race meeting was held at the Weston Park Model Show over the weekend with a full compliment of drivers keen to race on the old school grass track. For the Saturday event the track spent most the day wet so HoBao angle spike tyres gave the grip of choice for CML driver Jon Howells who took his pre-production RC8B3 buggy to the pole position and comfortable win after very little set-up time with the car.
On Sunday the track had dried giving completely different conditions with the grass partly wearing away so Jon chose the Pro-line Pin Point tyres which gave him all the grip he needed to compliment the B3’s handling resulting in another pole position and win. To power his new car Jon selected the ‘Elite 5′ engine from TOP and as usual he had Savox servos fitted.
