Team Associated driver Jon Howells takes the double @ the Nemo Racing Winter Series @ Stoke-Nitro last weekend. Jon had his work cut out in the bugy and Mugen Seiki Driver Ashlee Owen piled the pressure on him by taking all three Rd’s of qualifying and the TQ on the day, Ashlee needed to finish 3 points clear of Jon to take the series on count back but it was not to be as Jon’s experience and cool calm collective attitude took the RC8.2 over the line .30 of a second in front of Ashlee, from the start of the A-main Ashlee & Jon got away clean and traded places for the top spot until 6 laps from the end when Jon got past ash through a gap only a car on 2 wheel’s would go through and both cars no more than a second between them all through the race.

The battle for 3rd place was between Sworkz driver Graham Howard and Xray’s Colin Brennan with Graham needing to finish ahead of Colin to take the 3rd spot in the series so no pressure there but Graham kept his cool and did what was needed and finished 3rd on the day and 3rd in the series.

Buggy Series Results:

  1. Jon Howells
  2. Ashlee Owen
  3. Graham Howard
  4. Collin Brennan
  5. Kong Mckenzie

Truggy, Jon Howells again showed his skills and takes the 2012/13 winter series and 4 of the 5 Rd’s with his Team Associated RC8T, team mate Lloyd Pitt was 2nd and Kyosho Steve Price 3rd.

Always at Stoke-Nitro we have a Driver of the Series and this winter it went to Craig Meakin, Craig has really improved as a driver and I am sure over the next couple of years the name will appear in quiet a few race reports around the country.

On behalf of Stoke-Nitro Racing Club I would like to thank Pro Rc & Rc-Bits.com for there support over the winter series, the drivers for making the series what it was a success and to Glyn Morgan for the Timing and the Stoke Crew for the help setting up and packing away after the meetings, for now the track will be closed over Summer hopefully back in the Winter but keep an eye on the web page for any announcements www.stoke-nitro.co.uk
